This year, the 93rd Academy of Motion Arts and Sciences postponed the next awards ceremony until April 25, 2021, two months later than originally scheduled, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision to reschedule the awards ceremony has been made in the hope that theaters would be open again in the spring, thus allowing for more movies to compete in the annual celebration of the year’s best films.
It is not yet clear that exactly how many people are allowed inside the 3,400-seat Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where the ceremony traditionally takes place.
Ahead of the 2021 Oscars, the Golden Globes (February 28), the SAG Actors Union (March 7) and the British BAFTAs (April 11) would be held.
